Kookoo, if worms are not the culprit, and there is no health reason your pup is skinny, try Dr.'s Foster and Smith (catalog or online) they sell a high calorie supplement to pack on some weight. Also, in rescuing, I've given thin dogs white potatoes in order to bulk them up a bit. Mash them with a bit of milk, or cube them up once cooked. Sweet Potatoes are a real good way as well - mashed or baked --- in a pinch you can use canned, but with syrup well drained - while the syrup has calories, it contains too much sugar. Just add whatever potatoes you wish to whatever you feed your dog. If it eats commercial dogfood, try going to the puppy formula till she gains weight. Puppy formulas contain extra calories to help young pups grow, it will work the same on an adult.

    Hope this helps.

yes it does... I gotta beef the poor girl up. She gets picked on by her brother and the other neighborhood boy dog come dinner time. I see her sitting back waiting for whatever scraps they leave her. It breaks my heart. (yes I feed whatever dog comes in my yard  )

But she is the most fierce!! Sly little protector. She has the deep growl and pounce persona.

    thanks bunches!
