My grandparents had the pleasure of meeting him and being in a service he held. To me, he was a man who lived his beliefs

When I lived in Asheville, I did some work on the radio system for his Evangelistic organization in Montreat. Never got to meet the man himself, but was very impressed with the Staff and the way he ran his organization. No "bloat and waste" such as air-conditioned dog houses or gold faucets to be seen. They used almost every penny to do charitable work, much of it out of the public view. The people were kind, frugal, and very cognizant of the fact that any donations given to them were an act of Trust from people who may not have a lot to give. I got a very good "vibe" from the entire organization, and they lived their Faith. The tone was obviously set by the man at the top. A good man, indeed.
