I will agree to disagree with you on this matter. Many philosophers throughout history have had this same discussion without reaching an agreement, and I don't think we will either. As long as we can acknowledge each others' beliefs, I think our discussions can be more meaningful and we can at least see the reasons for many of our other disagreements.

We have established that you believe "might makes right". (majorities create rights) There is a very good chance that if such a decision were ever forced upon Congress, an amendment could be easily be passed to define marriage as between one man and one woman. This would NOT violate the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment because every man is allowed to marry a woman, and every woman is allowed to marry a man. The statement that "all men are created equal" does not imply that women are physically equal to men. That is the mistake in your logic, and the source of your confusion.

I personally think the government should get out of the marriage business, and end the debate right there.

If you can't tell the difference between a man and a sheep, that's your problem, not mine.

How about women who fall in love with hairy men? Are you suggesting they are just half a blink away from falling in love with a gorilla?

Nobody ever said allowing gay marriage "leads" to allowing beastial marriage, etc. My argument was that if you allow two men to marry, why can't a man marry his sister if he is so inclined? As I have said and will continue to say, homosexuals want special rights not equal rights.

How is it special rights? All they want is the same right that you do to marry someone they love. They don't want to marry a brother or sister, they don't want to marry a sheep. They just want to have exactly the same rights as you.

Not the "religion" I follow. Christianity boils down to loving Jesus and loving others...it does not say to tolerate or condone sin as acceptable behavior. The Bible says homosexuality is a sin and I believe the Bible. I don't force that belief on anyone else...you can choose to believe the Bible or not. But, I will not sit idly and allow people to claim an immoral lifestyle as being "OK". I reject it and I don't want society to accept it. There is nothing about rejecting a lifestyle that is unloving. My sincere desire is that everyone would have a relationship with Jesus. He has changed my life in so many ways. I used to do lots of "bad" things, but Jesus has freed me from that lifestyle. I hope all homosexuals will allow Him to free them as well. Sadly, most homosexuals don't realize the bondage they are in. Just like the drug addict or alcoholic who denies he/she has a problem, the homosexual can't see past his/her deviant behavior. Having been through a "rough" past myself, I can understand that blindness. The terrible thing is that the homosexual community wants society to put on the blinders as well. Well, I for one, will not do it. It is not OK to be gay. Homosexuality is not only a sin, it is a perversion and an immoral lifestyle. If you buy into the lie that gay is OK, you are buying into the biggest lie that has ever come from satan himself.

You are not answering the question. Yes, they want to marry someone they "love". How about a man that loves several different women? Is denying him the right to marry them any different than allowing same sex marriages? I don't think it is.

Didn't Jesus say that a man who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery? Shall we then prohibit divorced people from remarrying?

Following that "logic" then, how is marrying a same sex person different that marrying a person of the opposite sex?

My point is that marriage is when 1 man marries 1 woman. That is what marriage is defined as. If you want to open up that definition, then you must (to give everyone equal rights) allow anyone to marry anyone else (including relatives) and you must allow people to marry more than one person. Otherwise, we are still "discriminating" against certain groups. You can't have it both ways...

If God meant for those of the opposite sex to be together he would have made two dudes and two women in the garden of eden and told them to go out and live together as spouses....

The Bible also says that you can't eat seafood, wear clothing made of two different fabrics, and you can sell your daughter into slavery.

That question is above my pay grade. I don't make the rules as to what is acceptable...that's God's job.

Jesus and his disciples fed 5000+ people with "FISH" and bread....next argument.

No, that doesn't follow at all. Your definition of marriage is not the only possible definition of marriage. For example:
Each one of those can be discussed separately. It makes no sense to choose one form of marriage as legitimate, and lump all the rest in together.

BS Clif... Jesus fed all them thousands of people from a few FISH and bread the boy had, so where do you get not eating seafood at. The Koran.
