One "rumor" was that they were not allowing a deli in the other side of their building on Amelia because of a meat. Don't know if that is really true or not.
I have a friend who works there and he said that the only thing that will change is that they will/are carrying pepsi products. They are going to keep the Meat Dept. open as well as the Hardware.
Who is the "eye candy" y'all are refering to? I mean, Ms. Elgie's hot and all that, but I prefer my women not to be wielding a meat cleaver....
The best way to keep farm land is for you to start buying land. Get your frirends together and out bid the developers.
Are they open on Sundays now? Sunday before last, I was on the way home from church, and it looked like they were open but I did not have time to stop and see. A gas truck was there and several cars were in the lot.
This - "I can not believe the Well's sold out! But like a lot of Clevelander's "OLD ONES" see $$ and sell out." is gossip. There is no truth in it - they did not see $$ and sell out.
I used to be able to buy gas there even when they were closed, but last time I tried, it didn't work. :?
If they are happy with their decision, I'm happy. No gossip here except, please, for the love of all that is good and holy, leave the meat dept alone!!
I was told earlier in the week that starting next week they would be open til 10pm Monday thru Saturday and 11am to 7pm on Sunday.
Unless they are part of a chain, there isn't much they can do about that. Years ago, my parents had a convenience store near Blacksburg and we paid a higher price per gallon from the distributor than the truck stop at the interstate exit. The gas came off the same truck. That's just the way it is. They can't let you have it for free. 8)
I went by yesterday and they were the same as the new Exxon, and a couple cents cheaper than the stations around 40/42 (except for Hess).
