It's self righteous and over zealous to not want an animal to die of a heat stroke in a car? Alrighty then! Tell you what, tomorrow morning, when it's about 85 degrees, go sit in your stationary car in the Walmart parking lot, in the full sun with the window cracked a couple inches (without the A/C) for a good 10 minutes and see how you like it! Then we'll chat.
It can easily get to 120-130 inside the car in 20 minutes or less when it is 90 degrees outside. Sounds similar - http://www.lifewithdogs.tv/2012/07/good-samaritan-shatters-window-to-free-dog-from-hot-car/ And here's a video to watch, how would you feel in there wearing a fur coat? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbOcCQ-y3OY&feature=share
Follow your heart, but if you bust someone's window in to save an animal you will probably have to explain your actions before a (...hopefully sympathetic) judge. Calling the cops is the right thing to do and the pictures might help in your defense, but the cops are gonna have to deal with the situation as it is presented to them and let the system make the final determination.
"You might not like what happens" "You might not like what you get" Wow, Suzie, you are not going to like my next statement. You are wrong. And yes, I would even deal with someone like you before I would watch an animal die in a hot car. The only thing I would have done differently would be to call the law first. Given your rage at the world, that would be best.
I was a good 20 minutes from the time I got to my car, unloaded the groceries, put the cart away, got in my car, THEN noticed the dog, called the manager, waited 5 minutes, called the manager again (I had my kids in the car, and iwas not going back in the store), called animal control, then called the sheriff. I did not act hastily. I just feel bad for the poor dog. I am sure that this is not the first time it has been left in a hot car.
The words quick and Wal-mart do not belong in the same sentence. NOBODY gets in and out of there in 10 minutes.
My son's dog pants in our air conditioned house. Dogs pant. It doesn't mean they are in distress or even overly hot. What a tool!
Clif, are you still crying over that "Drama at WalMart" thing? Or are you just in the pouting stage now? It will get better with time.
I was in for about 6 minutes to use the ATM at my bank in there..... i got out....fast....BEFORE my daughter and her friend remembered the McDonalds....:jester: Shoulda went on Monday...Don'tcarehowyoudiditinnewyork had chicken at lunchtime!!! :jester::jester:
http://www.wisegeek.com/why-do-dogs-pant.htm A little info for you Clif, since you are obviously getting yours from the Pet Section at Wally World. I have to wonder about the training there at this point. You and Suzie Q are not going to win this argument about pets being left in cars.
No, because one can't have an battle of wits with an unarmed person such as yourself. But my comments had nothing to do with the dog left in the car. My comment was directed at the condemnation of Wal*Mart for this. It's not Wal*Mart's fault the dog was left in the car any more than it was the owner of Clayton Crossing (the shopping certer property owner). Idiots like you and ginger1989 are always looking for a reason to bash Wal*Mart. If you don't like Wal*Mart, don't shop there. But leave the rest of us who do believe that Wal*Mart is a boon to any community they choose to build in the ability to shop there in peace. ginger1989 chooses to bash Wal*Mart because they didn't do anything. Well, what did ginger1989 do? Make a phone call? Huff and puff? Why didn't s/he bash the window in? If the dog had died in the car, ginger1989 would be just as responsible because s/he did not do everything s/he could to save the animal. But, ultimately, all this typing will just go right through what little brain you have without touching a single neuron. Why? Because all you want to see (no matter how wrong it is) is that I'm defending the dog being left in the car.
