You know Clif, so many people have made that point. When I was growing up we ate liver once a week because it was good for us. Liver was a health food. That was before anyone ever heard of a thing called 'cholesterol'. Today, yesterday's 'health food' is about the worst thing you can eat. But we can only live by what we know today. We can't live in the year 2020, but we don't need to live back in the 1950's either. You just have to go with the flow big guy.

I love Shelby, she's cute! I'm going to change my avatar to my own chow chow as soon as I figure out how to do it. His name is Bear. Now if you will excuse me I am going outside to have another glass of wine and a cigarette.

There is a big dif between smelling somebody's cig smoke, and oggling a breastfeeding mother. Now, I was very discreet (and I did not have to be!) but I nursed all over this town up until my daughter was close to 15 mos old.

    NORTH CAROLINA
North Carolina, in 1993, exempted breastfeeding from the criminal statutes, and at the same time, clarified that women have the right to breastfeed in public, even if there is exposure of the breast.

    N.C. Gen. Stat. sec. 14-190.9
    1993 N.C. ALS 301; 1993 N.C. Sess. Laws 301; 1993 N.C. Ch. 301; 1993 N.C. HB 1143

    "ยง 14-190.9. Indecent exposure.
    (B) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a woman may breast feed in any public or private location where she is otherwise authorized to be, irrespective of whether the nipple of the mother's breast is uncovered during or incidental to the breast feeding.

I will never forget when I first moved to NC. I lived on Parrish Dr in Benson for a short bit, and could walk to Byrd's. I bet I had a look of shock on my face the first time I saw an old-timer with cig hanging out of his mouth in the produce section while he felt up the fruit!

Hmmm, it's a Red Herring. Let's talk about the effects of smoking, and ignore all the **** we put in your food, your shampoo (did you all know there are carcinogens in your shampo?)...

There's a difference between "going with the flow" and making the flow compulsory. Unless I misunderstand, your advocating going against the flow being a crime.

    666. It will all be encoded on your card.

    *beep*

You have 917.43 in your checking account.

You may not purchase cigarettes, alcohol, or kiddie porn.

You may only purchase baked potatoe chips and whole grain bread.

This card will self-destruct at Fast Food drive-thrus.

You definitely misunderstood me. Maybe "go with the flow" was not a good choice of words. I have not made one post on here about any government control on food. I was agreeing with you that one day it's this way and the next day it's that way. A lot of this research is done with our tax dollars and they have an obligation to tell us what they find. What we do with it is our business.

where are you going to get those stats?

    I started smoking when I was 10 and smoked until I was 41. I was a three pack+ a day man.

I haven't smoked in 17 years come May.

Are you part of the poo-free brigade? I have considered this, for my girls. http://greenink.resist.ca/?p=45

And baby shampoo, tear-free, but full of cancer causing agents... pour that in your baby's eyes.

Look at all the carcinogens we ingest or apply to ourselves on a daily basis.
