Hate to toot my own horn but will do it anyway Just in case anyone wants to give someone pottery for Christmas-keep me in mind
Do you make pitchers? Our son broke our pitcher that we had for 11 years. Got it as a wedding gift and used it for tea all the time. Would love to have another one. Send me a link to a website ifyou have one. Privately of course b/c I don't want anyone getting in trouble on here. Thanks. Stephanie--mom to 7
Some of you might find this crazy...but we're not buying our kids anything this year... We're taking them to Disney World instead! (you all thought I was cruel for a minute, didn't you?) They of course don't know it, and will get a stocking full of stuff from Santa, but other than that it will just be presents from relatives (they have a lot of grandparents, so they're good there!) Other people I have not even thought about it yet, usually September or October, try to be done by Thanksgiving.
You're a good man, I know how tough it is to stand there with a beer in one hand and tongs in the other.... and you have to drink fast so you don't get off balance.
No way! I don't even get into the Christmas shopping mode until after Thanksgiving. We're thinking of taking the kids to Disneyworld rather than a bunch of toys. My 7 year old said that would be fine with her. I'm not sure how they'll feel when the time comes!! We wouldn't go until January though because I know it gets crowded around Christmas.
At first I thought this said thongs. I had a visual in my head that made me laugh out loud. I'd better close the door to my office....
LOL My mother calls "flip flops" "thongs". It's no wonder I'm confused. Obviously both are useful items but they are hardly interchangeable. Of course, she calls "Hot Dogs" "tube steak" too.
Same here...I think our gift to each other this year, will be to successfully hang on to our house...
Yes, I have started shopping. I shop all year round, it just makes it easier. But, the girls are getting a scaled down version of Christmas this year, because we're going to Disney. That's their BIG gift. (and their small one, lol)
Go around the 2nd week in Jan as it gets busy the 3rd and 4th week. This sounds really weird, but trying to go during a slower time isn't always a good thing. Of course you want to avoid the super crowds at Christmas, but during slower times, things aren't firing on all cylinders if you know what I mean.
Hey - you stole my idea - just kidding! I don't think it's scaled down at all! Disney is huge for kids!!! The memories will last forever. Mine probably couldn't even name two things they got for Christmas last year.
I've been in February before and it was great! No lines and everything was working great. I just don't want to wait that long after Christmas, especially if that's the girls' gift! My 10th wedding anniversary is in the middle of January. I'm not sure I won't to spend it with the kids in Disney! Ha! I was hoping for something a little more romantic. We'll see... It's a tough year financially for us too. We might be going to The Disney Store rather than Disneyworld.
I just meant that the 1st week in Jan is still busy, 3rd week is busy because of MLK weekend, and the 4th week is when the large Brazilian tour groups start to arrive.
Thanks! Maybe I will shoot for the 2nd week. I guess the kids will have to miss a little school. They won't mind that at all!
