sounds like a misunderstanding to me. maybe the teacher let them watch a news story about it or something, but the video is currently in the hands of the queensland police....
The news reports I saw stated they were going to leave it up to his wife to determine whether or not it aired. I don't see the point in airing myself, other than "rubbernecking" I personally won't see it under any circumstances out of respect.
"If I'm going to die," the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin said in a 2002 interview, "at least I want it filmed."
I only had time to read through the first two pages of this thread - have to duck out in a couple of minutes, but regarding Steve Irwin's passing - the news was very sad to hear. This man had such a love of life and really embraced what he did and shared his passion for those things wild with the world. My belief in being is pretty simple - The minute you take your first breath, the time of your last breath has been determined. What happens between point A and point B and the choices we make are simply "life." No matter how much money or power you have, you won't live a moment longer than our creator intends you to. So, while I'm sad that the Croc Hunter willl no longer be walking the planet, I believe that it was simply his time. I'm grateful that his passing was quick and that he died doing something that he truely loved.
just for the record, i didn't really mean that you "attack" necessarily...just that i notice you correcting some vocabulary and spelling and like that and i just think nobody cares about stuff like that in an informal setting such as this one. and just so you know, 'shlep' actually is a word! good one... http://www.bartleby.com/61/69/S0136900.html
I think I hear the phone ringing . . . it's probably her village looking for their idiot. What a moron.
His love of animals cannot be questioned by someone with a sane mind. If you saw the episode when his dog died....oh my goodness. I cried my eyes out!
How about when his croc, Mary, died... http://youtube.com/watch?v=gVEVUxyxBJc&mode=related&search= I could've gotten really emotional watching him cry for his dead dog, but for a croc... uh, no. :? He truly loved animals.
Okay...I admit...I did get emotional watching that video. I am scared to death of crocs, but they are still God's creatures. He was a very special man, no doubt.
Umm, Michelle, a lot of people have the view that he (and others) intruded into the natural habitats and grossly disturbed the wildlife. They didn't agree with what he did. I don't see them as village idiots, just people expressing their opinions. One such person is a close friend of mine. She's highly intelligent, and we have only talked briefly on this topic since I already know her opinion. Don't be so callous to other's opinions. The expression of their opinion is important, just as the expression of your is. Frogger
“I am sick and tired of programs that tell me that the world is full of wicked, nasty, powerful, deadly creatures. Why does Australia set itself up to be made into this hellhole?” she said. It's not just Australia sweetie. It's the enitre world that is a dangerous place and without shows such as the ones on the Discovery Channel the majority of the world would be oblivious to such creatures. And thus the world would alittle more ignorant. Greer, an award-winning author, is a frequent critic of personalities like British soccer star David Beckham and social trends like reality television. In 2003 she criticized J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy for attracting “spaced-out hippies, environmentalists, free-market libertarians, social conservatives, pacifists, new-age theosophists, sexists and racists the world over.” Seems to me she is just alittle upset about her lot in life since she seems to find issue with just about everything. I mean come on if the Lord of the Rings really attracted all those diverse groups then it should be looked at as a positive thing for bringing them all closer together. Craig
