A Beatles tribute band, Abbey Road, is getting ready to play in just a bit here in downtown Clayton. Just what i need to listen to while im working late. Not really...dont like the Beatles at all but im sure some of you do and i imgaine they are a pretty good band or they would not have gotten booked. So for those who like the music, its a nice way to spend an evening.
Need stuff to do with 4 1/2 yo boy Just moved into Cleveland area last week...stay at home mom with a very active 4 year old boy (and due with a girl next month) ....we need to find things to do with other children/SAHM's in the area!! Anyone want to get together? So far, we've found a couple local parks we like and will be visiting that free 10am movie at White Oaks cinema this week for sure. Anyone know of other stuff to do/play groups to join?? :allears:
Kids activities Welcome to the 4042 area! My kids are about your son's age. We love: - Benson Lake Park (playgrounds with shade, picnic tables, walking trails and a lake!) -Museum of Natural Science. downtown Raleigh on Jones St. (free) -The Partnership for Children of Johnston County (a resource center near Papa Johns in Clayton for toys, games and other educational stuff). Speak to Darella Cavenaugh 585-7023). -Library Storytimes and programs. Southeast Regional Library has 3:00 p.m. "School age Specials" on Wednesdays with stories, skits, and crafts. Free. I'm not familiar with the local mothers' groups, but I've heard of one called Mothers Unlimited, and there's one in Wake County called Mothers and More. Both have play groups. Graystone Garner, NC
Playgroup There is actually a Free mommies group for Johnston County, It called JohnstonMommies.com. They have Playdate, Mommies Nights Out, Monthly Meet & Greet, Book Club and an online forum. You should check it out.
Anyone doing the free movies at White Oak tomorrow morning? I was supposed to take the kids this morning but I made it home from running morning chores too late so we didn't make it. I'm planning on taking them tomorrow instead.
I might...I've only got my 6 yo this morning so I'm going to see what he wants to do with his special "mommy" time. FYI: If you have a preschool-aged kid, Morgan's has a summertime preschool program where you can drop them off from 9-1 for $15. That's where my little one will be this morning. He's been once and had a good time (said he liked the trampoline, and he is very active, so it's a good place for him to be!)
