Threads like this are what make me believe that term limits are the way to go.

One term for all. Whether that be 4 yrs or maybe 6, but no more. Politicians might actually accomplish what needs to be done to get this country back on track. Right now nothing ever gets accomplished because they're afraid they might not get reelected when the time comes.

Shoot, just think about how much we could save in reelection costs alone? No more under the table campaign contributions! No more wasting two years out of a four year term campaigning. No more you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.

The American political process is nothing but a joke IMO.

The problem with my solution is that the lawmakers are the only ones that can propose a constitutional amendment and they surely won't vote themselves out of office.

You're right, instead of this trivial stuff, lets have another thread about the busted bridge on Cornwallis Road. :banghead:

Thank you Webbie for the update. We had called and were told that WIC had enough money to last the month of October (if you were already within the system). I will be making a call to confirm this (nothing against you, just need to be sure we don't have to go to the office for the kids' appointments.

And for those Bashing on WIC. I applaud you for having the balls to speak your mind in this day and age. But I feel for you. When you need help, I hope no one helps you.

My situation, two parents, working full time at jobs paying 15.00/hr or more. Newly pregnant...Both jobs gone within a month, and pregnancy only 2 months in. WIC, Food Stamps, and donations from helpful organizations and friends/family have helped us get by. Do we WANT to be on these programs, HECK NO! Do we appreciate it? YES, whole heartedly, it has kept food on our table. And don't start saying we need to work for everything like everyone else, cause I've sold off nearly everything of value in order to provide for our family. I have pulled staples from a man's floor in prep of new Linoleum flooring for $80.00 for 10 hrs of work, plus my gas to dispose of the old flooring at the landfill. I have sold my gun, cut grass, picked up peoples trash, and numerous other things to just get by. Gas to get to work, and Milk for the kids are expensive, and with children, Milk is essential for proper growth.

So stop complaining because unless you've been in my same situation, in these same days, you won't understand it. And remember, I PAY TAXES TOO FOR THESE PROGRAMS JUST LIKE YOU DO, so essentially, I'm paying myself back to provide for my family.

    *rant over*

DHHS said federal WIC funds available to the state will be sufficient to cover WIC vouchers already issued for the month of October, but not sufficient to issue additional vouchers.

WIC clients should keep their nutrition appointments and continue redeeming October vouchers and WIC vendors should continue normal operations to accept existing vouchers. The Department will continue to monitor the daily availability of federal funds and will announce changes if they become necessary.

Churches, donations, and families is how this problem is solved not by government. I don't blame you for taking WIC because the government has forced you to do so as far as I am concerned. If the government did not tax you and everyone else so much you might actually have a savings for emergencies or been able to be more prepared for such a thing. But the government takes you and your families money away at such a large amount that you MUST go to WIC and other programs. Its a big mafia like scam and it is immoral.
