:neutral:WOW...I was rrrreeeeaaalllyyy LOST there for about 20-30 seconds.....i think I'll just go back to that "other" link now.....:?:
yes i admit i messed up on the source of the article i should have stated that 1st, but we had just got in from the trailer fire on pierce rd. while we were cooling down at the station a fellow ff came out with this article from the herald and it just hit me wrong! at times it seems that no matter what we do, someone comes along and kicks us right in the b@lls! but rest assure, the citizens of our district will continue to recieve the best fire protection and medical care we have to offer! ( ive finally cooled down !)
Just remember that there are many of us that will be kind enough to do the same thing to you the next time you are in a bind. Craig
I was waiting for somebody to say that I've went outta my way to rescue cats a million times and I cant stand them. The firemen really shouldnt have to do this sort of thing. Ask a neighbor or something.
IF YOU EVER HEAR ME WHINING ABOUT EMERGENCY SERVICES PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT NOT BEING USED TO GET A FREAKING CAT OUT OF A TREE THEY I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD BE KIND ENOUGH TO GIVE ME A DOSE OF REALITY!!!! ANYBODY WHO THINKS THAT PAYING COUNTY TAXES MEANS THAT THE FIRE DEPT OR ANYBODY ELSE IS OBLIGATED TO COME GET THEIR CAT OUT OF A TREE NEEDS TO GET A LIFE!!!!! :nopity:
"And all those exclamation marks, you notice? Five? A sure sign of someone who wears his underpants on his head." -Terry Pratchett
Exactly! I have never seen any cat bones in trees, have you? On another note. You could have posted here and got lots of help. My husband is a power lineman. He could have put on his hooks and got it.
You really are appreciated and supported by most people. Thanks for all that you do. Did the guy and his chained up dogs make it out ok?
thanks for asking yes everyone is ok our main concern was the elderly lady in the next trailer, she is on oxygen and was unable to get out, the heat was impinging on her and we got there just in time to stop it from spreading to hers. if at anytime anyone wants to know where their tax money(fire tax) goes feel free to stop by the station anytime and watch us train, attend classes(almost every night to the week) and check out our equipment. our board of directors see to it that we get everything we need to be the best that we can be and provide the best services to our community
Dont worry Captain, I'd say 99.9% of the people here think you guys are amazing and doing a wonderful job with the little resources ya'll have. Rescueing cats is silly for the fire dept to even have to think about. You guys DAILY, do incredible feats of bravery, while being underpaid and understaffed in my book. I thank you for keeping my me,my family and my neighbors safe.
My friend's DH is a volunteer with one of FDs in Harnett County. He was recently sent back into a burning home because a woman was screaming that her "kid" was still inside. He found a dog under the bed. I understand that pets are important, but it really peeved me that she would risk a man's life!
:iagree::iagree: I was in no way trying to be disrespectful, I thought it was funny once I figured out the posting error.
My hubby is a volunteer fireman so firemen have a special place in my heart, along with everyone else who serves to protect us. They just don't get enough recognition for being the heros that they are.
Yeah, some pet owners get nutty. Was in the sLowes's hardware a while back and saw a lady that had 2 little dogs in her cart. I made a joke by saying "excuse me miss, but what isle can I find the dogs on?" She looked @ me like I had called here a fat cow and said "They are my children!" Craziness.
