They are owned by the same family Tawaii, If you'd like to call and complain, the owners name is Chris, I'm not sure which store he spends more time in, but you should be able to find listings in Raleigh (New Bern Ave), Knightdale and the 4042 location.
I finally tried Grand Street Pizza out last week and got their large size pepperoni pizza. It was a pretty good size pizza for the money. The only complaint I have is that it didn't really have great taste to it. I like to taste something besides tomato sauce and cheese
Has anybody talked to Chris? I like their pizza and it is so convenient to our house but I'm not going back until basic handwashing is instituted.
I wasn't there the same time you were there, but I observed unclean acts that you observed too. I stopped there to get pizza and the young girl working the cash register had her finger in her mouth. Another boy at the register was rubbing his nose because he had a cold, and another worker was rubbing his hands through his hair. I ordered the pizza, but I was watching who was touching it and I know for a fact that none of them touched the pizza that I ordered so I ate the pizza anyway. I would not go back to Grand Street because now that I look back and think about how you don't know what goes on with what you can't see. I guess I should have complained.
Delivery was perfect. I only live down the road, so I've done take out, dine in, and delivery, and it's always been without problems. (Have you tried their garlic knots? yummmm)
It is Grand Street Pizza My friends, I am an employee at Grand Street and would like to set the record straight. First of all, while reading this please remember that many of the negative posts were made during the first month or two that we were open. Things are always chaotic when a small new business is opened. Also, a large percentage of the employees that we started with have been let go. Including the original Assistant Store manager. Many of our employees are young teenagers and this is their first job. We are aways striving to teach them that both customer needs and healthy hygienic food preparation should be their utmost concerns. As with every business, not every employee is perfect, however we try to pass on constructive criticism whenever possible. If you have any complaints the best thing to do would be to ask for a manager then calmly voice your concerns in a mature fashion. We need to hear what we can do better in order to know! Another thing that many customers have a hard time dealing with is that they can see their food being prepared. Most restaurants have the kitchen hidden behind closed doors. Grand Street has the kitchen open for everyone to see what is going on. If there is a problem then tell us! Also Chris is NOT the owner. We are a part of the Grand Street franchise owned by Ben. However our particular store is privately owned by Tom. Managed by Mike. So calling Chris is just going to get yourself laughed at.
My mistake then, I know Chris owns the ones in Knightdale and Raleigh, I didn't know it was a true franchise. So sorry. Maybe thats the problem, y'all need to take lessons from the other stores. His are immaculately clean, well run and his employees are always kind and helpful. I guess it makes sense now why I just couldn't fathom Chris letting one of his stores operate in such a manner.
I believe we are the only franchised store. So we enjoy the struggle of having operating a new restaurant with no help from the franchise. We also have less staff to make our store "immaculate" because are budget is significantly smaller than that of the original stores.
I have eaten there several times and I have always been pleased! The lunch specials for $5 are a good deal, and my hubbie LOVES their pizza. I have never had any issues with the staff, even the high school kids. They were always pleasant and used good hygeine (that I noticed) We will be going back.
I have been there more than once and found it to be a great place. The service was wonderful and the food was fantastic. I took my daughter and grandson there and she couldn't stop talking about the place. The young boys that were there changed the channel on the tv to what my grandson wanted to watch. He had a ball they treated him like the king he thinks he is. I will keep going there.
Now if I may ask. What is the difference between your pizza and Domino's? From what I understand you use a conveyor oven instead of a normal pizza oven. Isn't that kinda of low quality?
We do use a conveyor oven. That does not make it low quality. It just means it always gets cooked at the perfect timing. The difference between us and dominos is that we create almost everything from scratch daily, so everything is fresh. We also have different recipes for everything. It is like asking what is the difference between McDonalds and Burger King. Same concept gone about in different ways. I would recommend just trying it out. If you are worried you are wasting your money then come in Monday through Wednesday and get a 14 inch cheese for 7.99. Not that much money and you can get a first hand look at what we are about.
I have tried it. I wasn't a great fan of your cheese and sauce. I don't see a conveyor oven in the same way. Yes it cooks it to perfection. But so does a microwave. I guess it is kinda fool proof. You can't burn em' I guess. I am not trying to down your place. I'm just saying in my eyes your the equivilent of Domino's. And why go to Mcd's or BK when you get go to Cook Out ya know?
They have great pizza and wings. They are just a little too far away. We had good service when we went there. We usually order from Two Cousins.
Yum My family loves Grandstreet! The best thing is there's something for everyone. DH and son love the pizza, and dd and I love the pastas...and those garlic rolls!!! As a matter of fact, I have some events coming up and Grandstreet is going to cater it.
