my boys are 12....so I can totally relate. we can atleast burn some calories while the beatings are going on.... mine are hardcore going through puberty right now, and I am about to choke on all the testosterone developing. and Steph said it....the eye rolling and the sassy, sassy attitude. some days it's hard not to 'jerk a knot'.
you got that right, kids these days lack the beat downs we and our parents got growing up. Heck principal had my moms Ph # to call her when mostly me got cracked by the wooden paddle so she could come and watch and then take her turn. Then you go back in class and deal with your friends laughing. It was funny... not then but you could hear that sound thru out the hallways. Oh and then had another waiting for when I got home. ouch. But you know what they were all warranted I would say.
:iagree: with most all thats been said. But also remember 'to pick your battles' sometimes if its not immoral, illegal or otherwise harmful, its easier to give them a little responsibility in their choices....they'll learn sooner or later on their own. We used to tell our son (in HS) we did not care for one of his 'sometime' friend. Sure enough, our DS eventually learned that that boy was trouble and to keep his distance (and this guys been arrested several times since then!).
