Historical timelines throughout the Old Testament are awful guides...plus even the books of the New Testament are not in the same order as they were originally written. One thing in we were taught was, "Everything in the Bible is truly stated...but not everything in the Bible is a statement of truth". With that in mind...it helps the Bible to make more sense.
