Not really. I was speaking with someone this past weekend who dealt with such issues of welfare, medicare and the like. They were pointing out the high level of support for each other within the Hispanic community. They have during the first generation become productive within the society and by the the second generation had the children acclimate to the language and culture. No worse than any other immigrant model and better than some. The concept of seeing trends in anecdotal information is the flawed in that the data is not all reviewed. Only that data which for whatever reason catches our attention in noted and if that data is noticed there is a type of self-fulfilling prophesy in that we note that data because we are looking for that data. You start looking for hispanic crime or whatever and in the process ingore the other data sets, you will believe you see a trend when in reality you do not. You do see what you sought though, support for your initial belief.
