What was this person's title, education etc.? Or should we just take it as fact because it is coming from you?
Nope, I saw it but when looking at the sources of the information the credibility of the data becomes much more questionable.
Assitant head of a county program in the piedmont area of NC, masters degree or better (I did not ask but there was a mention of post grad experience) and the other person in the conversation was a communication specialist (spokesperson) with another county in the same area. Both had similar information on the issue.
I just noticed this on CNN's website. Ya'll need to picket the network and call them racist. How dare they run a story about Mexicans immigrating here. I did notice that they called them immigrants instead of illegals. I expect that from CNN. I love this statement in the story. Despite the stereotype of the United States as an anti-immigrant destination, "at local levels, there is very little harassment," de la Garza said. "By and large, people are accepting of immigrants." He forgot to add the illegal part to immigrants. http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/americas/07/22/mexico.immigrants/index.html
Well at least one sounds like they may know what they are talking about for those counties. The PR person is obviously going to have the sweet spin (as you well know) so I wouldn't believe anything they have to say about how great their county is. Too bad we're not in Piedmont, but thanks for the info.
Hey spin doctor... WTH???? You yourself made claim there are as many legals here as illegals.... I asked YOU where is your proof to your statement, not to pull in WV's quote.... YOURS not his... comprende
Big deal... lot of people with higher education are ignorant... ie Professor Churchill... John Holdren... both educated but ignorant...
Maybe you should READ the thread it had already been posted. I know but your double standard was showing through so brightly I assumed you would not want to appear hypocritical. I suppose I was wrong in that assumption.
Everyone. Please take the time to browse the home page where Wayne's research (referenced in the above post) is being pulled. Please. There is such irony abounding it's hilarious. http://www.laughtergenealogy.com/
Yes, I knew you would not disagree with such a source .... but for the rest of us: (Report: Immigrant population in N.C. nearly doubled in four years Associated Press Friday, November 26, 2004)
Ok that is good.. from 2000 - 2004... lets check those numbers from oh say 2005-2009.. better yet 2007-2008
:lol:So you did look at the site that this information originated from? Because if you had you would see that it could be Wulf's grandad who runs the site as much as the guy opposes what Obama is doing. He has the illegal immigration stats because he opposes them. I appreciate the hilarious irony that pulling from this source provided, but if comedy is not what you are aiming for you might inspect where you are linking to in the future. I would think this would have given away for you that perhaps you were on the wrong site for pro-illegal immigrant information.
