Ok ladies! Update on my friends baby- She is now taking a couple cc's of breast milk every few hours thru a tube, which is wonderful! She's pooping! And, she has opened both eyes. So she is really hanging in there and doing great considering her young age. Went to the Dr. on Tuesday, and Baby Jen is doing great! I've gained (please don't shoot me out of jealousy, I've really been trying to keep this under control) a total in 5 1/2 mos of..............4.5 pounds!! I'm sure I will start packing on a few extra pounds in the months to come, but for now I am satisfied with my progress and getting really excited! How's everyone else hanging in?
POW POW !! 29lbs here! That is, as of 3 weeks ago. I go to the doc tomorrow to see what it's up to this time :roll: After this check-up tomorrow I start going every 2 weeks... then every week... dern time is flying! A little too fast :shock: :lol: I am beginning to wonder..... Can I take a mulligan?
Oh yeah and here's the ticker-roo.... and scratch that "nearly 4 lbs" pffft this bugger is probably 6 by now!! :lol:
Kookoo, you're getting so close!! Are you ready, lol? I envy you, still not knowing what the baby is. Although I have to admit, knowing this is a girl makes planning a little easier. Let me know when your baby shower is, I wanna come!!
HECK NO I ain't ready! :lol: I have been making a TO DO list and a TO BUY list. Which both are fairly small... I have most everything I need left over from my first monkey. The TO DO stuff is really just pointing my finger in the direction of where stuff goes! :lol: And the TO BUY is pretty much only more crib sheets, more onsies, & diapers. I have been 2 years outta the diaper thing so I have gotta get back in the swing of buying those poop buckets. Now wipes on the other hand, I keep a well stocked supply of those even now! Everything else I pretty much already have. As for a baby shower... I haven't really expected one. Nor have I heard any word of anyone throwing me one. I mean it hasn't been THAT long since I had my first kiddo... Do people have another baby shower for the second.... third kids? :? DO I NEED TO START DROPPING HINTS?! :lol: And as for not knowing what the baby is... well I am up in the air on that! I have had people stop me almost everywhere I got and say awwww when are you due... what are you having...? Once they find out I am clueless they wanna guess, and I have about a 50/50 across the board on random guesses. I actually had 2 ladies in a gas station tell me 2 different guesses and then they tried to explain to one another why they were right! :lol:

YES! My first pregnancy I would poke it out and let anyone rub it. This time people started touching mine way too early and kinda freaked me out! (guess I was a real fatty right from the start! :lol: ) But as it gets bigger now and itches more... I'm like while you're there scratch it! :lol: :lol:
People are touching my belly, but it doesn't really bother me. I have enjoyed being pregnant so much that I just take that as part of it. Koo, about the baby shower thingy, how old is your son? I'm having at least one that I know of. I know there are going to be 11 years between Mini Me and Tiny Me, but I think it's okay for you to have another shower, especially if this one is a girl. A couple at my church has 3 young kids and she is pregnant with her 4th. Someone is throwing them a "mail-box" shower. Instead of coming to a shower, they got the distribution list from the church office and sent a postcard to all the church ladies announcing that this 4th child was due on such and such date, and why didn't we bless them with giftcards, and then listed their home address. Now to me, that was a bit tacky, but I just wanted to point out that just because this is your 2nd, doesnt mean you won't need stuff.

Yeah, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have another one. But see, then in steps my SIL.... 8) Who just had a baby and didn't get a second shower. Her 2 kids are closer together than mine will be. 2 1/2 years compared to my almost 4 years. Ya'll remember... the same SIL that was too good for my kiddo's hand-me-downs :roll: Which btw I got the mothball smell out of them not even 3 weeks after she gave them back. :roll: I hope I have a girl this time just so I can turn her clothes down too! Ok... I'm venting. As for the second baby shower... a Diaper shower would be TOTALLY cool... I mean everyone just bring diapers of all sizes! I would be set! :lol: Because anything else would probably be just wasteful. And dear Lord Jen & Beezor too...do not get a whole bunch of Newborn or N diapers and open them. People got me a bunch of them the first time and I thought hey I can always use diapers and the baby will be tiny for a little while at least and at first you use a whole bunch of diapers. Right?!? Well that wasn't the case for me and my overgrown monkey. The little monster came out and couldn't even wear all the Newborn diapers I HAD ALREADY OPENED!!! Don't open the diapers UNTIL you see how chunky your monkey will be! :lol:
My SIL in pregnant for her third time. This will be twins. She is having another baby shower. I am not planning on attending (prior commitment and we got short notice), but I will be sending gifts.
Baby showers are just like anything else, you know? Either you go/send a gift, or you don't. Now if I was having a baby every two years, a shower wouldn't be neccessary, but that isn't the case, lol.
i had bookoo showers with my first, none with my second (born 15 months later) and then bookoo again with my third (born 8 years later). The third was like starting all over again, since i had given away everything from the first two (except the crib). i think i was told at the time that at long as there is at least 5 years between then it is correct to have another baby shower (this came from my mom and her friends who were into the correct thing to do :lol: )
Well, if correct is 5 years and Koo's first kid is 4, we can stretch it a little, right? I am way correct then, mine will be 11 years apart, lol!
LOL yeah my family is all into the 'proper' thing to do too. Guess that's why sis-in-law didn't get one and prolly why I won't get one either. LOL And too like I said before I really do still have everything my first kid had. Yes I am a pack rat of sorts. 8) I always had in the back of my mind...If I have another baby Also, I just have to put this out there.... The Pound Cake Company in Benson ROCKS!! I just had some and dear Lord... I think they might have something on Sherry's Bakery
PSA for friends of pregnant ladies.....calling everyday and asking "Haven't you had that baby YET?" is annoying as hell....thank you, that is all....
