Mine wasn't all Co. paid time off, I had to use up all my vacation, sick time, and then got a little diability. Had to go back after the 12 weeks or would have lost my job, they were VERY strict about that, no extra time, 12 weeks and get your tail back in there. FMLA unfortunately only applies to companies with more than 50 people. One of my SIL got fired while she was out on maternity leave from an attorney's office! Nothing she could do about it, less than 50 employees. Don't you know that A-hole attorney knew it too. Things are infinitely better than what they used to be though, that is for sure!
Yes I took off 4 weeks before then 8 weeks after for my first one and 4 weeks before and 6 weeks after for my second one. Heck after my second one..I was READY to go back to work after a couple of weeks...LOL
Not me!! I took ten weeks last time, and cried (YES, Cleo cried!!) for the first week back at work. This time I'll take eight weeks and then... forever!
My job is only guaranteed for 12 weeks, so sayeth the HR dept. They'll give me 6 weeks for a normal delivery and 8 weeks for a Csection delivery. I really, truly, honestly do not want to come back to work. But, as of right now, I'm still working on how to make that a reality.
You can do it, Jen! You are a smart and resourceful lady. You have plenty of time to come up wth a game plan!! We're gonna eat beanie-weenies! See? It was that easy? LMAO!!!
Have you thought of an in home daycare? Just an idea... If you tell your dr. you're depressed they will give you a couple extra weeks off...that's what I did with my first one...my sister's a practitioner so she told me what to do :!: so I'd get paid w/disability..as long as your dr. writes you're not ready to come back to work (and it hasn't surpassed 12 weeks total time) there ain't nothing your HR dept. can do about it~
That may in fact happen, I had a little post-partum with Mini-Me, but I also had to come out of work a month early with Mini-Me too. So we'll see what happens... In the meantime, I need to win the lottery.
