There's the suspended pencil over the wrist thing too. Depending on the way it swings and how many times it swings, it's supposed to predict not only the sex of a baby, but how many you'll have (in your life) and what they are (boy/girl).

Mine was right the first time...and it said I wasn't done yet  .

I went by the how you carry the baby and the heartbeat last time and it was right on, and the Chinese birth chart rung true too. This time I just dont' know what to believe. I want the guessing game but then again I am itching to know! I think I am going to start a poll. :D

I used to know someone who swore they could predict the sex with a similar thing... she used a necklace with a cross on it, and she would swing it over your open palm, and depending on whether it went back and forth, or around in a circle as it slowed down... that told which you were having. She was right alot of the time, unfortunately for anyone to try it would be a waste, because I don't remember which way it swung for a girl vs. boy...

I have heard vertical is boy and circle is girl. And then I have heard the exact opposite. People have swore that how you carry the baby tale tell sign of what you are having. It rung true for me and my mom. But my sis in law was totally bass ackwards on all the same stuff . Her girl she carried like a boy, the heart beat was way down and the chinese chart said boy. And for her little boy she carried like a girl (all over) and the heart beat was way up high and chinese chart... big ole girl.

It's all the luck of the draw I think... just depends on how much fun you wanna have guessing. :D

We're having a girl. I couldn't stand it, I had to know! LOL
The u/s tech couldn't tell us for sure, so we went to Prenatal Peek in Durham and got the "gender determination package". It was worth every penny to me, it was the absolute coolest thing I have ever seen. If I was smart enough, I'd post one of the pics here for ya'll to see. For $125, we got 13 pictures and a DVD of the whole thing set to music. It was awesome! Good luck to you guys....26 weeks here and counting, I'm down to less than 100 days!!!!!!!!!!!

The string over the wrist thing has always been right in our family too.

Caution to those finding out what you are going to have. Once had a friend who was told it was a girl. They had pink everything! Pink walls in the nursery, pink bedding, all the pink clothes you could think of, girly toys in the nursery, and they packed pink blankets and clothes for the baby in the hospital after it was born. SURPRISE!!! They had a bouncing baby boy!

The surprise is so much better...you can find so much "neutral" stuff these days. I'd wait if you hadn't found out what it is yet.

Jen, convince hubby that not finding out adds to the suspense and fun of the delivery. Like unwrapping a Christmas present...crossing your fingers that it's the red riffle bbgun

just keep chanting koo...I wanted to find out with the first one and hubby convinced me otherwise. I was so glad! Then with the second one I look so forward to the "moment" that I yelled out what the baby was before the doctor could. It was really fun. We did the whole everyone in the family guess the gender, weight, and date of birth thing. Wouldn't have been as fun if we knew ahead of time. We get too few "good" surprises in the world today. Enjoy it!

yep! You're right! I have to say that you are the first person who has said GO FOR IT KOO! Everyone else is saying: wow, I would have to know... I don't know how you could stand to NOT KNOW! How could you plan? What will you paint the room? on and on....

Yeah I wanna know but then again I want it to be the biggest most ultimate surprise ever. And really it is. As for planning clothes wise... I already have access to boy and girl clothes from my first child and my niece. As for a room well I ain't much of a painter and we are in the mist of sell/moving/building so room colors, decorations, fra la la isn't at the top of the "prepare for baby" list. I haven't been all into setting my child's taste tostart with and don't plan on doing it with this one. And besides they don't stay in all that Cutie Patootie Baby stuff but for just a little bit of time, that it just isn't worth the trouble to decorate.

So yeah.. If I can hold out for just a wee bit longer I gonna have a huge surprise come Nov! :D

My first two were surprises, but I was over that by the time the last two came along and found out as soon as I could. Even then, I painted the walls a neutral color... just in case.

More power to you if you can hold out!! :D
