And I figured since Cleo is prolly still in the hospital and could care less about this board right now, I'd post for her too...

Koo, I was having a conversation with my DH the other night about not finding out the sex of this baby. So I told him about you and your DH and how you guys remained strong, and how you were so glad that you did. I was hoping that would encourage him to do the same.

No such luck, he still swears that come August at the next ultrasound, he HAS to know what it is, lol.

It'll still be cool if ya'll do find out. That way you will be able to use the right pronoun instead of calling the baby "it" or just "the baby" Sometimes I say he mostly outta habit, and sometimes I say she.

But I gotta say it is cooler and cooler every day just NOT knowing. It kinda makes the pregnancy just that much more intresting and exciting.

I say work on him and say look Kookoo KNOWS who KNOWS what her baby's sex is and SHE STILL hasn't called to talk to that ultrasound tech! Yaaah me!

Now my mother on the other hand.... Is still trying hard to locate said person!

To be quite honest though... the only reason I can honestly and truthfully come up with for finding out the sex of the baby is to prepare either way... But even with that I can find loop holes for each and every case. There is loads and loads of neutral designs, clothes, and baby gear. And besides newborns are in nightgowns or pajama looking outfits for a while anyway. And tell him this... even if you DO find out - they could be wrong! Then look at all the planning ya'll did for the wrong sex!

OR!!! You could always tell the doc ahead of time to conveniently NOT be able to tell the sex.

I was lucky..my husband didn't care about the sex...and I wanted it to be a suprise for both of mine...so that's the way it was

I never found out what the first one was, although my dad had said it was a boy, (dad already had him a fishing pole and tackle box) and my then husband said it was a boy, and it was! We found out what my daughter was and used her name. I remember my son talking to her and using her name through my belly. He use to lay his head on my stomach and just talk to her up a storm.

We knew ahead of time, but would have been OK if we hadn't been able to find out. My Mom was so excited it was a boy, she always wanted a boy, then had 3 girls, my sisters had their kids before mine, also all girls, so she was happy to finally get "her" boy. We debated knowing a lot, but since we knew this one was probably going to be our only one, we went ahead and found out. Not too much doubt at delivery time either, he hadn't left much to the imagination on the US, LOL. If God played a cruel joke on me though and I got pregnant again, I think I would let the next one be a suprise.

    Jen~

I think I've told you this before, but we found out. Had an amnio and I cracked when the tech called with the all-clear. Having said that, I always knew it was a girl, from the first day.

If it were to happen again, they'd have to call DH with the results. I know I'll cave, and I want to be surprised.

Any of you preggos (or former preggos) have an issue with headaches? I called the Dr.'s office and the nurse told me I wasn't drinking enough water and eating enough protein. Told me to take care of that and then call back if they were severe.

Well, they aren't severe, but I'll be damned if they don't feel constant.

I'm drinking so much water I feel like I could float, lol. And I'm doing my best with the protien. But on average, I'm taking at least 2 tylenol a day.

    Anyone else have this issue?

I had headaches, but weren't severe. I had to up my protein and chart it. The charting made me see I wasn't eating as much as I *thought* I was. For awhile after I had the baby, I didn't want anything that had any kind of protien in it, lol. It helped to up the protien, but my headaches were still a frequent thing. I didn't take anything for them, just muddled thru. It hurt  .

I know Race, I saw that on the news this morning.

But, it's the only approved pain reliever to take while your pregnant.

    Catch 22 I guess, lol....

I have a good protein source suggestion...The new Tuna Selects by Starkist and Bumble Bee are like 24 grams per serving and are extremely low in fat and calories.

But I'm only allowed 12 ounces of seafood a week, and tuna is especially something I have to watch out for because of the mercury content.

    Thanks for the suggestion though.....

Jen, I had headaches with Baby Girl in the 2nd trimester. The OB prescribed some meds, since tylenol wasn't cutting it. They went away in the 3rd.

Ugh, well I go to the Dr. again next week, and all I'm saying is that they've gotta do something for me. It's not normal to have a constant headache from sun-up to sun-down.

On a more positive note though, the naseua is gone. :)
