congradulations on helping pave new roads in wake country and provide more money for the politiicians to blow away
With the volume of tickets the clerks process everyday, I doubt $125 is anywhere near what it actually costs. Folks, this is only a revenue generator. If Clif had his license taken away for 90 days, he'd pay more attention to the speedo. @ 125 bux he'll just have to downgrade from The Angus Barn to Outback this weekend...no lesson learned. Clif, congratulations, you've got yourself a fangirl
Court cost is allocated to the Administrative Office of the Courts, and fines go to the schools. When I first came here in 1985, court cost was $60 and the fine for a speeding ticket was about $10.
Pattie you are a trip as usual  Well count your blessings lol.I havent had a ticket since 1999 and guess what.I screwed around in Wendell ak Wake County and guess what. That good ole boy couldnt give me reason one for stopping me.Since i had no license it cost me $600 and 2 years supervised probation and a day in jail.Slow down Ms Patrice just kiddin I am with you on the court cost. But go to court and get them to drop it to 9 under and your insurance wont go up.:banghead:
need to be careful as well in the area of HWY 70 as it goes under the bridge for the Greenfield Parkway, saw a motorcycle cop this morning sitting on the bridge with his radar checking the speed of people on 70 as they passed under him, clocking them from both directions, bet there was a patrol up ahead somewhere he was on the radio with.
I agree with you, space. Went myself recently, did not even see a courtroom in Wake County. It was more like an assembly line. I know in Va the court costs are 60 bucks for traffic court IIRC and the actual fines are similar to NC's...
The AOC website has a breakdown of how the money received from court costs is allocated (though it really doesn't tell you much, due to the generic terms used). However, they won't provide any reasoning for why you pay the same court costs, whether you go to court or not. I don't believe anyone will be able to provide a satisfactory explanation for that.
Get yourself a lawyer and get yourself a Valentine One radar detector. Best money I've ever spent for driving. I'm usually a dedicated radar detector user, although I typically do not speed with reckless abandon. Here's why. You're told that you stand a greater chance of getting a ticket with a detector in possession BUT you're likely going to get one anyway. NC law enforcement hands out over 400,000 speeding tickets each year and 200,000 warnings. Having the detector allows me to maintain greater control over the circumstances. Admittedly, I recently got a speeding ticket myself, but I didn't realize I was speeding and unfortuately, was NOT using my Valentine One like I should have been. If I had been using it like I have faithfully for years, I likely wouldn't have gotten ticketed. However, a $300 check made payable to a local attorney was all it took to get it reduced to a non-moving violation and no points. Up until then I had gone for over 15 years without a ticket. Expensive lesson for sure. From now on, I don't drive without the V1 operating.
