Well ... just saw this: "Authorities said the situation had been resolved as of 3:45 p.m., and the road is expected to open shortly. "

You know, someone who finds themselves in such a low place could use a prayer too. But that's just me.

I hope "resolved" means without any type of violence.

    Thanks,

That is one absolute 100 percent fact that you or anyone else will never see me at a bridge [unless there was water below and I was looking for a thrill jump one of the many back in the day] commiting suicide or threatening it. Never... I have a strong value for life in itself. You are right people have issues and problems and no quicker way to hell than to take yourself out.

Oh, I agree with you, suicide is the cowards way out. But I can still hope they find their way out of such a dark place. I will NEVER forget some family friends from church when I was a kid. The wife came home and found her husband after he had put a shotgun in his mouth. I thought it was horrible that he left her to find such a thing. I have a friend here whose husband did the same thing not too long ago. It's beyond devastating for those left behind.

I agree my heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones in this manor and all one can do is pray. Its not right for anyone to put other people thru the agony of suicide I have no sympathy for those.. just the ones left behind wondering why.

Kind of a "if such-n-such jumped off a bridge would you" scenario?

You got a cousin named Billy Bob too? Does he work at a Wal-Mart shipping/receiving facility driving a forklift? We might be related.

Didn't see any of the footage so don't know how precarious of a spot she was in, but I bet you could have shot her with a tranq. dart dropped her on the spot, had EMS roll up scoop her up and bam you are done in no time.

Heck, we might be related...Hugh thinks I'm related to everyone, everywhere. My Billy Bob states Waffle House is his favorite restaurant.

    Howdy, cousin,

I saw a blurry photo on WRAL and it looked like she was pretty close to the edge. And I have no idea what the policy is, but I'm sure the police department does everything they can to not resort to things that could go seriously wrong and end up in a PR nightmare. It sounds stupid, but I'm sure a lot of companies make policies to avoid things like that. Plus, she was a big lady so not sure if they would know how much to use in terms of weight etc. I'm thinking that if she wasn't too close to the edge they could have tased her and it would have been like the tranq. scenario where they could just grab her. I guess someone was able to talk her down though. She'll be safe and warm at Holly Hill tonight. I really do hope she gets the help she needs so she doesn't end up in a situation like that again!
