We've been here since Sat and here's what we've done so far:

Sat night - ate here http://www.tonygore.com/tsresturant/smokymntbbq.html everything was delicious!

Sun - River Rat river tubing (bought a groupon before leaving) about $13 each, but has a nice facility and plenty of parking. We enjoyed it so much we'll probably go back on Fri. Hint: wear flip flops, once in the water remove them (they'll fit in the handles) then use them as paddles as needed . I had a hard time reaching over the sides and reaching the water, so this worked well for me and my arms got a good workout! http://www.smokymtnriverrat.com/
Then drove the Cades Cove Loop since it was nearby http://www.cadescove.net/auto_tour.html
Ate at Five Guys - everyone was in the mood for burgers and ready to get back and take a shower, lol.

Mon - rain was in the forecast so we hit the Tanger Outlet center, were going to go to Patriot Park to watch the fireworks, but decided to hang out at the pool and watched the fireworks from there, ate the sandwiches we'd packed for the park.

Tues - went to Gatlinburg, walked the shopping area. Went to Cooters Place
http://www.cootersplace.com/ it's right on the strip. Met Rick Hurst who played Cletus Hogg in the Dukes of Hazard. Lots of interesting shops! There's the Moonshine Distillery http://www.olesmokymoonshine.com/verify/ were you can sample moonshine and there's a new winery beside it that also had decent wines for tasting. Ate a late lunch/early supper at Big Daddy's pizza - good food. http://www.bigdaddyspizzeria.net/

Wed - we had to change condos, so that took most of the morning. Went to Flap Jacks for breakfast, moved our stuff, went to a wine and cheese tasting at the resort, then hung out at the pool. Cooked supper in.

Thurs - went to Wears Valley Zipline Adventures http://www.wearsvalleyziplines.com/ they are new and the prices were better than all others around! Dh and I have done this before on our cruise last yr, but we wanted to do it again and wanted our adult children to experience it too! Afterwards went to The Old Mill area and walked around then ate at the restaurant. Not sure what the dinner prices are like, but we ate from the lunch menu and for 9.99 you got a full meal! We got country fried steak (x2), grilled chicken and meatloaf. All entrees were served with enough to eat 1/2 and take 1/2 home for supper...all except for DS who got the meatloaf and ate the whole thing! :ack:

Having a great, relaxing vaca so far - of course it will be over way too soon!
