I don't think Aidan is a "new age" name. Who was St. Aidan? ... Apostle and evangelist ... "Aidan was sent to instruct the English nation in Christ." —the Venerable Bede Aidan, for whom our church is named, was one of the heroes of Celtic Christianity. He brought Christianity to Northumbria, in the northeast of what is now England. Aidan was a monk of Iona, the island community in the Hebrides of Scotland, founded by Columba in 565 of the Common Era.
Now why do you want to do that? I just said I would quit, and then you go and use decent instead of descent. Now I'm left with coming up with things like... Your Dad was a fairly good German?
Well what about Aiden, Ayden, Aidyn,Aeden, or how about Aden? Where they all saints? Yuppy name. Now way around it. It's also a Celtic name, Scottish name, and English name. No matter how you spin it. It is a yuppy name!
Actually that's not true either. What they are now calling "indigenous Americans" aren't. They only got here first.
Well I am sorry for starting this thread. I guess I am an ill hiney this morning. Sorry. so Watch out!
That link is extremely funny. Bookmarked that one as I know it can be of use in the future. Wonder why only one person on this Forum keeps bringing up all the "homo" items? Mothers and fathers don't name a child based on "homo" ideas...I don't think...I really don't understand. Have gay friends and still only one person on our Forum keeps bringing that subject up....hum! Just thinking while I am typing. Grace
I also bookmarked that site.... hysterical Read 'Pirates' and 'Americans' (so true) LOL.....thanks for that Hught
aiden/aidan is not a new name it is an older name. i have a gradnson named aiden which i named and i was thinking he would have a nice name that went with Charles. i do not see any of them names as being way out there. even xavier is not a name that just popped up i went to school with one back in the 8o's
I think I gave my kids nice strong names. Not very popular, but still common. I didn't even see my son's name on that list. Good.
