Maybe its just me... but I'm not PAYING someone so that I have to go to the effort of sorting my trash. They should pay me if they want to take it and recycle it or get some further life out of it. They ought to pickup the recycling for nothing, and be grateful people are willing to worry enough about the environment to do it. The city I lived in up in MA had a city trash service, reasonable rates, and mandatory recycling bins that we had to sort in and put out. They didn't charge any extra...I think we paid $40/qtr.
ok - i'm going to put an ad inthe classifieds - I need someone to do a dump run to the stupid trash containers less then three miles up the road. I make more garbage then anyone I know. will pay.
Don't feel bad, I cleaned out closets over the weekend, the container wasn't big enough and I donated a lot of stuff.
Should be aware, if I remember reading the fine print, that that is illegal unless you pay for the sticker. Yeah I know, Mr. Sunshine 8)
What do I do with my trash? I live in Clayton andI do what folks in Clayton have done for generations. I just dump my trash in the Neuse River. I can still remember as a child helping my parents lug the bags and boxes down to the river bank after a good rain event and we would just push the garbage in one bag at a time. Unless they had heavy objects like bottles or paint cans in the bags they would usually just float away. No fees, no pick-up days to remember, just mother nature doing the work for you. With this drought I have had to hold off becasue the current isn't stong enough to wash the bags of trash away. I hope this drought is over soon. :-(
