Was too far out of the way (as was most everything then) for where I lived.

I probably know most of you, or your folks. My Dad ran Clayton Oil Company on the corner of Main and O'Neal, caddy corner from NC Paper Co., from 1950 until he moved it a half block down Main. Don't remember when he moved, late 60's, early 70's maybe. I helped him there from the time I was about 9 or 10 on, and got to know so many folks. Clayton was really a small town then. I ran the gas station/convenience store there called The Corner Station for a couple of years in the early 80's. I had a game room in the basement, and it sort of became a local "hangout'.

Tassy spent some her first weekends down here watching me and gerbil work on either his Nissan, the blazer, or the Jeep on Saturday so we could all go down to Buckleberry on Sunday.

If Craig knows who you are, he might remember which it was. But I do remember spending a good amount of time in Gerbils driveway when I first came down to visit. I don't know which they spent more time on, car audio stuff, or getting ready for 4-wheelin' stuff.
