Shepherds pie...very quick and easy. Keep in mind that there are many variations but the ingredients that I use are:

Ground beef (1 lb)
Corn (1 can whole kernal, 1 can cream style)
Potatoes (5 large, mashed)

 

maybe - I ONLY use Miracle Whip (lite) - no mayo in this house! :mrgreen:

So I'm sitting here eating this dang chicken salad and I think that the sweet relish is a good guess and maybe combined with the Miracle Whip. I'm just going to bite the bullett and ask her anyway so my chicken salad mystery can be solved. :lol:

 

Lowe's Foods uses a poppyseed dressing that's very sweet in their chicken salad. Maybe that's what's causing the sweet taste? Is there poppy seed in the salad you ate? Also, I've never like fat-free or low-fat mayo. It has no taste. As little as we use, I always go for the real stuff!

 

Chicken salad is not supposed to have nuts and fruit in it. Ick!! Chicken, mayo, celery, egg and a little salt and pepper are all that is required. I've had the other and it makes me :ack:.

 

same here... all that other stuff makes it ... stuff salad.

 

I disagree! I love it with pecans. The grapes I could live without.

 

Big Steve's has an awesome chicken salad....chunks, not ground up and very simple! Get it on Rye...yum!

 

I'm making chili. I figure it feels like Fall out there, so I will make it one last time before the summer heat sets in.

 

That's the way my mom always made it except she added a small amount of sweet cubes to it. I miss my mom!!! :cry:

 

WITH corn on the cob (on the grill) and salad.
