Was it Holy Smokes? I've heard of the place, been wanting to go there and try it. Is it where the Shiney Diner type place used to be?

That's it!! Good stuff I tell ya! Ordering is weird because you do it by pound, including sides. But it is GOOD! They've got all these different sauces on the table to try with the meat, I think my favorite is the "Boot Kickin" sauce. I had some smoked turkey last time as well as the brisket. Yummy!

Try looking at your local hispanic supermarkets. They use beef brisket in alot of their recipes.

There's a place in Nahunta (NC) that we got 1/4 cow from before. I have NO clue where the # is right now. It's probably still packed away in DH"s desk upstaris which is blocked by the weight bench and boxes. :?

Thanks. I know there is a Pork place at the farmers market from there. But would love to ask "where's the beef"

Went to the food lion at 40/42 and they had a whole section of briskets. They also have their corned beef briskets on sale, .29 lb (I think)...

I've never been there, so I don't know anything about the place, but the Clayton Foodtown always advertises in their flyer that they can order sides of beef, etc. Maybe that would be a place to try?

Will you share how you cook yours. I bought one in the spirit of St. Patty's day but I have never cooked one before. I'm clueless

Now I'd like to find a place that raises cattle organically without all the added crap in their food, and freaky corn feed. I'd buy half a cow from them.

Beef brisket: I went to allrecipes.com and found one called Oklahoma Brisket. Made a sauce, cooked in oven on 300 for about 3 hrs (depends on the size) and then cooked on grill (low heat) for about 20-30 min. Mine was a little dry (it was a small one, should cooked less time). But sliced and added Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce.....mmmmm goood!!!!

Corned beef brisket: cook in crock pot overnight or all day.

Good luck and happy eatin'

Try www.localharvest.org and punch in the zipcode.

You can buy it right off a local farm. I came across it when I was checking out the small farming market in Jacksonville.

I cooked the corned beef for lunch Sunday, it was good.......8)

Put the brisket in the crock pot and cover with water, add seasoning packet, throw in a few bay leaves and cook on low. When its done there may be a layer of fat. Don't worry, it trims off easily, then just slice against the grain.
