Keep telling yourself that. If he can't register vehicles here properly, then what makes you think he's filing business taxes properly? Or not cheating on his income taxes?

I personally ain't calling on nobody. First of all, it prob wouldn't do any good and second, they are probably doing or not doing other things that will catch someone's attention eventually. 5 years is freaking ridiculous though.

Totally agree with every word of that statement.

on a similar train of thought....

I always wonder about the people towing a trailer with NO License PLATE. A plate is required to be displayed. I know some state like SC have a size minimum but in NC you need a PLATE + insurance. (Yes that = tax)

Often these are work crews - to be SURE they know that rig they are hauling needs a tag!

I have a neighbor like that myself, so there's two people in this thread at least.

I think before you turn them in you should form a vigilante committee, go over there and beat the **** out of them and then give them a chance to make it right. If they won't, THEN turn them in.

Actually illegals pay lots of taxes in sales taxes, gas taxes, etc.

One good advantage of the Fair Tax would be that illegals pay more.

The best way to get them to pay more is to force them into becoming legal citizens. If they don't, then deport them and let taxpaying US citizens have the jobs they're taking.

But that's for another thread. It still doesn't solve the issue with the folks being here for 5 years and still running out of state tags on their cars.

The fair tax would solve A LOT of problems but it won't pass because, well, it's fair.

Not very American to force someone to become a citizen. Force to fill out the documents to be here legally to work is one thing, forcing to become a citizen something else.

But in any case, those here illegally do pay taxes every time they purchase things.

Notice how Renee Ellmers was so much for the Fair Tax when running for office, now that she is elected she can't bother to be a co-sponsor of it?

This is true, but to add to Buc's point, they send ALOT of their earnings back home. It is never recirculated in the US.

I don't have any problem with you wanting to turn them in, but my personal feeling is "what goes around, comes around". Better hope you never take a short cut or do something wrong, because you'll be turned in next!:)

Good point, it may be true, but I have done way more good in my life for others than I have bad, so it should cancel out. Some would even say it is a good deed to turn them in. Like someone said earlier, if enough of us do it maybe it will save a teacher assistant or janitor job.

Actually license tag felons don't show up on the delinquency list because the state doesn't know about them, so that number is even higher!

I still don't know who to call. It's probably the same place you call when someone flips a cigarette butt out the window. I want action!!!!

This is the only state I have ever lived in that charges property tax yearly on vehicles. Over the past 15 years of living in this state I have seriously considered registering vehicles an family members residence in other states just to avoid paying one more tax. I personally think we get taxed way to much in this state and nothing to show for it.

I-540 was paid for but Governor Easley raided the highway trust fund to balance the budget. Now the balance of I-540 is going to be a toll road. Every 6 months the gas tax goes up or down based on the previous 6 months. We have the highest gas tax in the Southeast http://www.northcarolinagasprices.com/USA_Tax_Map.aspx North Carolina uses gas tax money to fund the N.C. Department of Transportation.

Enough of my rant. But if the guy has a legal business in this state he needs to have his business vehicle to be registered in this state.

PS I know I am going to get railed for my views. oh well
