Ditto. It is now Hudson's and located where the Family Home and Garden was near the old Winn Dixie and McDonald's.

Heard what I thought was a possibly good (disclaimer: possibly dangerous) idea the other day. A mom froze 13 X 9 pans of water, popped the ice out then took her kids to a grassy hill and had them slide down the hill with the ice under their little butts!

    Who needs snow?

I think we have some in the backroom at the Lowes Foods in Clayton. If it is close to you check there first. If you will PM me with your information....I can give you a call tomorrow and let you know.

    Thanks!

OK, I think it's my husband's fault :-D. He bought sleds for the kids, in preparation for winter, a while ago (one...two years???) and we haven't had measurable snow since!
Our first winter in Jo.Co. (98-99) we had a monster storm that snowed us in our neighborhood for three days...it was GREAT!
If we don't get snow, my kids just get BIG pieces of cardboard and slide down grassy hills...just as much fun, no wet clothes!

Big pieces of cardboard also work in the snow. We had an unexpected snow storm when we lived in SC and we didn't have a sled. It was fun! Never thought of using it without snow.

We used the lid to a plastic toybox before we bought sleds.

When I was in college, we'd 'borrow' trays from the cafeteria and use them out on the hills!

I saw some at Food Lion in Benson yesterday. I was surprised. Didn't look at the price. Other Food Lions may have them too.
