    "Bogie doesn't care...he is just getting fat..lol."

You have a fat Bogie too? I have a Bogie, he is a Pomeranian! (and also slightly chubby, but that's my fault, I cant resist his cute little begging face when he sees me eating something!) :)

    Thanks everyone!!
I went with Taste of the Wild for now...it was $10.99 for a medium sized bag but she only get's about 2/3 cup per day so it should last for a while ;)

Which, the website I just posted, gives your Taste of the Wild (Wetlands and High Prairie varieties) six stars .. their highest ratings. *grin*

I'll admit, I'm a dog food 'snob'. I just like to think I'm educated.

Taste of the Wild is a pretty good choice. Only thing I don't like about them is they use Diamond as a manufacturer and Diamond has had a lot of recalls and stuff. The fish formula used to use ethoxyquin preserved fish, but it is my understanding they have stopped using those suppliers. Best priced Grain Free food, found at Tractor Supply and Pet Supplies Plus.

Nutro - I cannot recommend Nutro. I used to, but they were bought out by MARS and well, Nutro had been going down hill before then. Their lines include a lot of gluten. Also, there has been a lot of claims of the food making dogs sick that they've tried for years to cover up. I'm just not comfortable with that brand.

Blue Buffalo - One of the better 'common' brands on the market. Their original formula is a little grain heavy, but the Wilderness Line looks awesome. They also have a Basics line that is good for food allergies. Sold at Tractor Supply, Petsmart, and Petco

Wellness - Like Blue Buffalo, good stuff, not as readily available as Blue. I actually feed their CORE (Original Flavor). Found at Petco and Pet Supplies Plus. I order it online via SmartPak

Innova and Natura products - They have recently been bought out by Proctor and Gamble (Eukaneuba's Parent). I am hesitant to continue to recommend them based on the track record of other quality foods that have sold out to corporate America. This is another reason I don't recommend Nutro.

You may be surprised what is really in some foods like Ol Roy, Dog Chow, and even Beneful. McDonald's has a lot of ads on TV, but it doesn't mean its a healthy choice for eating on a regular basis. Here is a really good guide about selecting a dog food.

Our two former one's where a bit on the heavy side, since this one is a miniature I really plan on staying away feeding her some tidbits here and there but I know it's going to be tough not to ;)

You can find Innova at Pet Mania in Cary and Raleigh and Pet Plus Supermarket in Raleigh. Pet Supermarket in Cary and Raleigh may also carry this brand. Also look at Petco I think the closest one is in Knighdale off 64. And if you don't mind going to Chapel Hill (near Southern Season) Phydeaux is also another pet store that carries alot of all natural foods for dogs and cats. Phydeaux also has better prices on some of the items that they and Petsmart both carry.
