Good suggestion. Folks, I think I will keep it as Hugh makes a good point. We are RR Extreme ourselves.

What is that asterisked statement about, at the bottom of the page.

Are they saying that we existing RR customers cannot switch to RR Lite? Haven't some posters here, switched?

AL, I didn't switch but MIL did and it was easy. Just a phone call to TWC to change from reg RR to lite. No problem.

Thanks for the info., I will switch to RR Lite (Not the 768) which will save a few bucks, and then (I apprecaite the offers of the free Routers) we will buy our own router and we have someone who knows how to hook it up and unscramble it. All the wiring is there already as we are paying TWC to rent it each month. TWC may come out and take their stuff back (router) and that's when I'll be ready to hook up our new stuff. Thanks for helping me understand all this. I should have done it last year when we got TWC but a least I am only one year in the hole and not longer!

I have it too, it's great. Basically you only need "reg RR" if you are networking in your home, if it's just one pc connected to the internet you are good to go. It might take a little longer for large file to dl, and if you are watching LOST on abc.com you cannot expand to full screen.

I didn't realize this thread was so old. Is Earthlink just the GUI and TWC is the portal? That was my impression.

Yeah, I finally called today and switched from RR Turbo to RR Lite. Saves me 10.00 a month and I see no change in how fast I do things online.

I called yesterday and switched too RRLite s well...I also got rid of unlimited long distance and switched to only local calling plan. So...my monthly bill went down $20...kind of expected it to be closer to be $30, but hey....every little bit helps.....and I don't notice any difference at all in the service either...
