Why she so afraid of the media?

She should not be treated as fragile. Why should anyone treat her fragile? For goodness sakes, she may be our next President if McCain actually gets the votes. If she's not up to questions, hard questions (Clif), then go back to the road to no where.

If elected...we are in more serious trouble than now. Watch our Constitution as you have never watched it before!

    Thank you Charlie Gibson,

The point was not whether or not she should be asked "hard" questions. The point was that Mr. Gibson asked her hard questions, but asked Mr. Obama fluff questions.

Don't you care that the media doesn't believe Mr,. Obama can handle the tough questions?

    For what? Media Bias?

    Clif,

I typed the fragile in response to this person and the hard questions with you and a smiley because you always ask the hard ones no matter who a person is.

As for your remark regarding Obama...I happen to think he is doing just great and actually does understand we have a Constitution and other laws. No need for him to ask if he's allowed or however it was worded to ban books...he already understands these things. We will not need a slow learning curve...............

    Poor Sarah,

The media DEFINATELY slants the stories, extracts snippets to make the story more sensational, etc. I can tell you about several times I've seen it happen, but I'll just give you my favorite story for now...

I worked at an apartment complex in Raleigh close to NC state. All the kids would park their cars there, then go on campus, so we had strict rules about parking passes, etc. So this one resident had his car towed 3 times. On the third time, he called WRAL and they did a story on "predatory towing" with this as their centerpiece. The kid marches his young brother in front of the camera with his broken legs and goes on about how they towed the vehicle with his wheelchair inside, they were just pulling up to get his crutches, etc. No mention on the story about how bad the parking problem was, and that the same vehicle had been towed twice before for not having a parking pass.

Being in my business, I am approached by the media every once in a while, and I ALWAYS avoid them and the camera. Of the incidents I've been involved with, I go straight to the nearest police officer, and have the media trespassed first thing. I can assure you I have nothing to hide, I am just smart enough to know that they can bring nothing but trouble.

Have you seen Katie Couric interviews Sarah Pilan on CBS yet? Watching the interview just reminded me of miss South Carolina.

    From the National Review

    Palin Problem
    She’s out of her league.

    By Kathleen Parker

If at one time women were considered heretical for swimming upstream against feminist orthodoxy, they now face condemnation for swimming downstream — away from Sarah Palin.

To express reservations about her qualifications to be vice president — and possibly president — is to risk being labeled anti-woman.

    -------

Palin’s recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League.

No one hates saying that more than I do. Like so many women, I’ve been pulling for Palin, wishing her the best, hoping she will perform brilliantly. I’ve also noticed that I watch her interviews with the held breath of an anxious parent, my finger poised over the mute button in case it gets too painful. Unfortunately, it often does. My cringe reflex is exhausted.

    Life Begins at Rape

    New York Times: Wasilla Watch

So, McCain didn't support Biden's bill, she ousted a police chief that advocated for said kits, and rape victims should be forced to become pregnant.

Now, if that ain't logic I don't know what is!

On the bright side... at least they'll have something to talk about next week.

It wasn't the questions that bothered me. It was her response. In lieu of admitting her lack of knowledge on the topic and showing the trait of a leader by asking for an explanation; she chose the 'side step shuffle'. Admitting to your inadequacies makes you a more knowledgeable and respected person. That's who I want for a leader. Anyone intentionally side stepping a question shows poor leadership qualities. It shows they will hide when they don't have an answer.

Too bad Mr. Gibson didn't hit Mr. Obama with the same questions, you might be even more bothered by his responses. But we'll never know, will we?

How about sticking with "Why are the Conservatives so afraid of her responses to the media?" You seem to be skipping past that question and want to talk about Obama.

    Thanks,
    Sherry

They aren't. They are complaining that she get's thrown to the wolves, while Mr. Obama get's treated with kid gloves.

And you seem content with the fact that Ms. Palin get's hounded with questions about foreign affairs while Mr. Obama gets asked how it feels to break a glass ceiling. Do you not care what his answer might have been given the same hounding? Or is it ok with you that one get's treated like a media pariah whil the other gets treated like a media darling?

Clif, Obama gets plenty of tough questions.

...he just makes them LOOK easy. ;)

Oh, yes. He made the look so easy.

How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to "win"?

Those were just so hard hitting questions that even the wording of the question made them look too easy.

    Clif,

Can you please answer this question...Why are Conservatives so afraid of Sarah Palin answering media questions? Period!

    Thanks,

    Double Standard

Clif, Obama endured far tougher questions than those from the Clinton campaign, as you well know. Bill O'Reilly also tried to 'trip him up' as well...

    ...and failed to do so.

Obama makes Competency look so easy that folks don't think it's tough.

Right now, Sarah Palin has more to prove than Obama does, because she hasn't been 'vetted' by the campaign process. She also has a much greater chance of becoming president than Joe Biden does, simply because of McCain's age and health history.

A few months ago, most folks had never heard of her. Now she wants to be second in line to the Presidency behind a 72-year-old cancer surviver, yet the Media has been told that it has to be 'respectful' when asking her questions.

    That's pure hogwash.

I expect her to be 'grilled' all the hotter now, before any 'buyers remorse' has a chance to set in AFTER we're stuck with her.

    Once more...

    THEY AREN'T!!!!!
    Period.

(Sorry for the caps, but you failed to see my answer the last two times I posted it.)

No problem on the caps as I feel the same way with you on this topic. What do you mean they aren't? She goes to the U.N. to actually meet some in power in other countries and the media is only allowed like one question. What is with that? Anybody else would have been at the microphone, if for no other reason than to gain headlines. But not with Palin, right now. Sure, in the beginning but once she actually started speaking and answering questions...uh, oh...the media is backed off and she is poor ole' Sarah who is being questioned by mean people. Give me a break.

    Answer my question, please,
    Sherry

    YES THEY ARE!!!!!

They weren't allowed one, they asked it even though it wasn't allowed.

They were allowed into the meetings (as a pool).

What's with that is that the media is so much looking for slime that we get ridiculous news reports such as her son is actually her grandson (by her husband, no less). Now, do you honestly want our country to be represented by having our VP nominee to be talking with a head of another country with the media throwing out questions about her daughter's pregnancy?

So you're ticked off because she's not a media whore?

So the fact that she gave Katie Couric yet another chance to beat her up in a liberally biased interview doesn't mean a thing, eh?

Now, since I have answered your question, will you answer mine? How do you feel about the VP nominee is beat over the head with the hard ball questions (that she did answer), but Mr. Obama is given a free pass with questions like, "How does it feel to win?"

If you don't want to answer that one, how about this one...

How do you feel about the fact that the Republican VP candidate is given questions that the Democrat VP candidate has yet to have been asked?
