You and DMJmom are both welcome to come over and play on the new wii once I get it set up!

I did meet Nevilock at Hat's booth and he was wearing his sticker.

I bet Hat and C6 are ready to get out of that heat about now.

Have you ever noticed how HOT it is every year during the festival. I don't think they've had a year yet that the temps weren't almost boiling.

Hey i had my 4042 badge on for awhile, it kept falling off my shirt so i put it on my pocketbook. It was great seeing Webbie, kdsgrandma, H6 and better half and i probably saw a lot more of you, just didn't know who you were. Gotta say we had a great time, rides were too expensive, but hey, it was my grandson so what's a Nanna supposed to do. West Johnston booth was really cool, they didn't have a lot of boy stencils so a really nice lady did a free hand baseball paint job for my grandson. The bungie thing just keeps going up and up every year and it is his favorite thing to do. We didn't get there until around 12pm cause grandson had baseball practice. Poor granddaughter didn't get to go at all, softball tournament all day in Four Oaks. All in all it was a fun but extremely hot day, wish i had met some new fellow 4042ers though. Oh and by the way, Frugal, the WII is mine:lol:

    Folks,
a pleasure to meet y'all. C6 and I left a 5. We do appreciate the support of the local community.
Thanks again to Mr and Mrs Webbie for giving us this forum. I really admire the junior webbie, as well.

Apparently this reporter has not been to Strawberry Festival before nor did her research. There have been inflatable rides and a car show every year I've been.

    Unfortunately we missed this year.

The walking area needed to be a little wider. Too much congestion! People would just stop and look at a booth not move over and look! Argh! Almost ran smack dab into people that just STOPPED!
Other than that I think the weather was nice and there seemed to be alot more vendors out there.

    TH,

I don't see where the venue is any different in a people per area factor, than say, the state fair. As one of the biggest community events in the 4042 area, and adding in the excellent weather, it seems reasonable to expect a lot of people in a smaller area. We have attended and/or vended at several venues. I recall one where the walking area seemed so large that some vendors began shouting at the crowds to lure in customers. That doesn't seem to be the pace here, nor the desire of any of us who live and vend here. Many of us who live in the community really enjoy getting to renew old acquaintances, make new ones, and enjoy the sense of belonging that we share. We like the pace of things.

I'd also like to point out that, most of us have an unlimited supply of courteous requests to "Excuse me", or "Pardon me" to maintain some sense of civility while enjoying a community get together.

Yours is the first semblance of a complaint about the festival I have ever heard about the walking area.

Thanks for coming to the festival. Hope that it was, otherwise, an enjoyable day for you, as it was for the rest of us.

    H6

Yesterday was a beautiful day ... but I sure felt sorry for some of the vendors who has spent the entire day in the sun ... especially the few that didn't have any type of shade. I was looking out for 4042 tags - but I didn't see any. It was nice as always to get to say Hi to Hatt & C6. I thought everyone was super nice at the festival. Baby girl was a little fussy because she has a mouthful of new teeth that seem to all be popping through at the same time ... but I think she enjoyed her 1st visit to the festival also. My son can't wait until the Wii drawing ... he's sure we'll be bringing it home :)

I worked pretty much during the whole festival so never made it past Fit For Life. Sorry I missed you again Webbie <pout>.

So the prices/tickets were a little much this year? I heard the strawberries went up yet another dollar to $10/bucket. That's 4 years running they've gone up a dollar <grumble>. Didn't get any.

How was the entertainment? I heard the guy singing in the late afternoon. Thought he was GREAT!

We will be at the Ham and Yam Festival in Smithfield this Saturday with tickets, plus we will likely have them at several other business locations in the next week or so to give everyone an opportunity to register. Be on the lookout here for the other places that will have tickets. 8)

And thanks to everyone who dropped by the 4042.com tent during the Strawberry Festival - always nice to see ya!
