State Employee's Credit Union is the best by FAR. All you have to do is know someone with an account there and get them to give you their account # and take it into the bank and say that they are your brother/sister, etc.

I vote for Coastal Federal Credit Union.... I have several accounts with them and they've always been on the ball.....

although it's taking me a little to warm up to the new teller ......

I used to use four oaks bank, and they were pretty darn good to me. I stopped using them when I left the area though, so things may have changed over the years.

BB&T is a good bank, but one thing I don't like about them is that they do not count deposits first before counting deductions which can obviously result in overdraft fees even if you seemingly play by the rules. Not all banks do this with some counting your deposit first as a courtesy. It seems a great way (coincidently or deliberately) to rack up fees.

Believe it or not I am an adult. That said, I keep associating the name of this bank with Robin-hood; not exactly reassuring.

I love the State Employees Credit Union, treated us right for over 13 years now including some pretty trying times.

I love SECU!. I have several accounts with them, as in checking, saving, money market. Only money laundering here is when I wash quarters in my pants pockets.

That's a good point. SECU applies the credit first.

I've used Four Oak bank for almost 25 year and never had a problem.
