But the whole purpose of a BAN is to not allow an individual to come back because they have abused the rules. So what good does it do to have rules that you can circumvent?
 I agree! Plus, Clif is the one who WANTED to be banned and threatened leaving, so is he just a liar or what??? Why would he make a new account??
but after the board meltdown, clif was gone, ken and nev were only temp banned i thought. so ken's gotten himself permanently banned now. but he can just come back as devilock77 and all is good? how is that a ban? or maybe clif never got banned for his multi-rule-breaking, multi-f-bomb dropping, fourth announcement that he was leaving? just his profile got deleted?
Might as well throw my 2 cents in. I also wonder why Clif is back, after the childish meltdown. I would remove him every time he raised his trollish butt. Ken gone, I also can understand that after pushing things to a breaking point, he kept pushing. The continued poking of the 4042 webmaster with a sharp stick topped and then because he couldn't get things precisely his way creating a competing site (which is his right). That certainly did not help his case - but from what I have seen elsewhere Ken wanted this.
Note, when I talked about poking the webmaster, I am not sure what happened today. I am addressing previous pokes.
maybe i don't have all the facts. maybe i just assumed since clif's profile under all his posts read "n/a" that he was removed. i could be wrong, since clif or webbie haven't directly addressed that. unless i haven't seen it. end of disclaimers.
not sure i can argue against ken's banning, either, but to let clif come back so obviously seems kinda.....untoward
Webbie, Please answer some of these questions: What does n/a actually mean on a Profile? What does Ban mean on our Forum? How do we differ a Temporary Ban from a Permanent Ban? Questions asked by regular and concerned users are throughout this Thread and need addressing. It seems as though most people agree; if a vote were taken, that Clif should have been Banned (meaning forever) and Ken should have had a Temporary Ban (Non-Permanent). And that anyone getting Banned should never be allowed back on our Forum. Please address these as soon as possible as even though we all debate and discuss issues heavily with one another we do agree that this needs to be consistent, fair and across the board. Thank you, Sherry :?
I'll be glad to answer those questions. I can definitely see where there would be some confusion. That being said, it will likely be tomorow sometime before I can post that information. Unfortunately I had to use the small amount of time available to clean up the reported posts in this thread which had no value to the conversation. Please note that I will provide an explanation to the questions you asked but will not be discussing any specific action taken on any user account on these forums. However I think anyone will find that they will receive more than enough information concerning the interpretation of Posting Guidelines to determine if they want to visit this site and participate here. Thank you. 8)
ok, have not been on the board all day, so am i right in assuming from these posts that Devil and Nevil are permanently banned but Clif is not???? We all know that over the years, folks that have been banned have come back numerous times under many different names, how could it be possible to permanently ban a poster with the internet the way it is now?
if clif were being sneaky, trying to hide his identity, i think there would be fewer questions. his unique location description is exactly the same on his new user id. for me, it kinda comes down to this: was clif banned? if not, why not? and if so, why is he allowed to so overtly come back without reprisal?
Devilock is now permanently banned, Nevil is not. At the time of the meltdown, Clif said he wanted to be permanently banned, and he apparently got his wish. Devil and Nevil were each suspended for 5 days. Apparently Clif changed his mind about wanting to be permanently banned, but his account had already been deleted/disabled so he had to create a new one to come back. I assume he cleared that with Webbie, but that is pure speculation on my part, I have nothing to base it on. Devilock has now been permanently banned for reasons that are not entirely clear to me, but I suppose Webbie will address that at some point when he answers Sherry's questions.
