A headline should never mention a particular race.:mrgreen:

The N&O did it this morning also. "So far, voters tend to be male, white" in the Triangle section.

Sorry, I don't see this as racist....facts is facts. :?

In a related story, men with military themed profile pictures voted overwhelmingly to keep "outsiders" away from their neighborhood during Halloween.

P.S. Dear God, it's only Wednesday?!

I just don't see the point in citing race in regards to anything, I think it divides people. I get annoyed when I am asked for my race on surveys, forms, applications, school paperwork, etc. I am likely to choose "other" or just leave it blank. If we are all supposed to be getting beyond race in this country, why continually bring it up?

Definition of racism: A "BELIEF" that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. In other words a bias "BELIEF".

This article doesn't express a particular belief of the white race, it was stating a fact on information collected. Now, if it stated that the "SUPERIOR WHITE men......yada...yada", that could and would be taken as a racist and biased statement. Using the term or description "white" just doesn't do it and you've made much ado about nothing.
    Facts are facts.
Its also a well known fact that there are a larger number of females students at UNC enrolled versus male students. Should we take this fact as shovanistic or just factual statement?
