We should be proud of our Redneck heritage. Just incorporate as "Redneck City" and our zip code could be E-I-E-I-O.
I see a lot of UNC flags around Flowers..... The lower class Rednecks as you stereotype them seem to have NCSU flags.....just sayin'
If you have enough people that are interested start planning some meetings and if what Homegirl said in the other thread is true that there is already a committee you might want to get that info and have a joint meeting to see if you can get the ball rolling on this again!
And if there isn't a committee, I'm sure the folks involved with Archers Lodge would help you out getting the ball rolling.
Yep I am sure they would. They would be able to tell you what it takes. I remember having to sign petitions, you have to have a certain % of those affected in the incorporation to sign in favor, you will have to pay a lawyer to get all the legal stuff done. I believe if you go to JoCo GIS department they will help you draw up the proposed boundaries if you want to change the ones that where created last time.
Hopefully, this is the realization of the choice between the lesser of evils....we either do it ourselves, or we'll be swallowed by Clayton or Garner.. None of the 'sane' among us want to pay more taxes. Yet, if it's going to happen (and it IS going to happen), I'd rather be a part of my community, able to set our town tax rates, building and development codes, etc, than become a cash cow to Garner or Clayton tax coffers as we are to JoCo's.
Please address trash collection at this braintrust meeting, make it done by the municipality and have mandatory curbside recycling, Ive got 20 cases of empty beer bottles in my garage.
exactly, especially if the incorporation passes in Archer Lodge, then Clayton will have no other choice but to head that way!
