Yeah. That's a guarantee. I am a little to "In yo face" for politics.

Let's hope no one votes for Fred because they owned one of his houses. That is like saying you'll vote for Bush Sr. because you don't like broccoli either...it has no bearing. His homes have so very little to do with his ability to run a public office.

To say things go 'low bid' as an excuse for employing illegal immigrants is a cop out. His company (the one that bears HIS name) is ultimately responsible. Even more so since he holds public office in the state and is directly responsible for legislation concerning this very issue.

Besides, I have seen some of the construction involved in his developments and it is not low bid. There is some quality work in the higher end homes.

Does 'the buck stops here' sound familiar?

Well Harvey. The rest of the thread is a great read also. But thanks for stating the obvious.

No problem, just putting my waders on to get through your BS. It seems as though you are actually agreeing that your posts are inaccurate and you are appreciative that I 'stated the obvious'...happy to oblige.
...and I hope you are not intending to make it sound like I just joined this thread...

What I was saying Harv is if you read the previous post you will see it was not just about owning one of his homes. But since you read it. You would have known it.

I am saying read everything before repeating what others have said. That is why it is obvious. But then again if you read the previous posts I wouldn't be writing what I am now.

How else should I read this?

Harvey, this guy/girl just has problems communicating or likes to do a revisionist cover once he gets called on it. I had the same type response when he tried to state that "you are not breaking the law if you don't get caught".

Ok, look at his record. What has he accomplished during his very brief time as a county commissioner and his time as a State Senator, other than making plans to run for higher office?

So his great accomplishment is that he's shown up for some votes and cast a vote on some bills? Generally I think of a record of accomplishment as sponsoring bills and getting them passed, not just showing up to vote on things that pass 46-0. Any ideas of the bills he has sponsored and that got passed by the State Senate and House? What were they and what did they accomplished?

Any idea on which ones he was the original sponsor on(co-sponsorship doesn't really mean much...generally means they signed on to the bill after someone else introduced it) and which ones actually passed?

The ones he sponsored are in BOLD on the same page I got this data. Just didn't tranfer with it. To tedious to cut and paste.

To put it simply: How has Fred Smith made a difference in the State Senate? What laws/bills were passed because of him that wouldn't have been passed if we had elected someone else to the position?

Well we can ask the same of the other candidates as well. I heading out. Everyone have a good weekend.

But you said we could look at Fred Smith's record and it would speak for itself, so Fred Smith is the candidate we're talking about now. You posted his record, it didn't speak for itself, just a lot of mumble jumble. Again the questions are simple:

How has Fred Smith made a difference in the State Senate? What laws/bills were passed because of him that wouldn't have been passed if we had elected someone else to the position?

Okay...but you were insinuating that I should be reading what you said from THIS thread.

Based on your join date (4-3-07), your number of posts since then and the blathering content of those posts you are obviously going for some sort of discussion board record for nonsensical keyboard diarrhea.

I look for threads I am interested in. Then I read the whole thing. As for posts, I go for quality over quantity. I've been doing this a long time. I'm an OG, baby.

Fred can have your vote. He should be proud to have it. He builds you a home using illegal labor that he is now too scared to do something about while in public office and in effect, buys your vote. Enjoy your crown molding.

Do other developers/contractors use illegal labor?

So how many builders in Johnston County do not use illegal labor. I'm betting more builders use illegal labor (including their sub-contractors) than not. Start naming the builders that do not use illegal labor including the subcontractors they hire. And we can check them out.

I think the point was not concerning the builders but the political office. ;)
