So if somebody calls you an *******, it's only insulting if you're not one? BTW, Merriam Webster says "biddie" is not in the dictionary, but they offer this definition for "biddy": Note that phrase usually disparaging? I'm pretty sure disparaging is another word for insulting.
Biddie is degrading... I work hard to be called by my real name that I can't spell on here or ill get kicked off:jester: Ok all joking aside.. i am not a biddie
one of your other post said that it was only bad if you were not a biddie...so i was just stating that i was not a biddie:lol: just a general statment
You can't insult someone by calling them what they are. Example: Calling Dolly Parton effeminate is not insulting. Calling Chuck Norris effeminate is insulting (and rather dangerous).
That's an interesting point of view. I think calling persons derogatory names is insulting, whether or not the person doing the name-calling believes himself to be telling the truth. And, I don't recall having heard the adjective "effeminate" applied to a woman before.
Ummm, I think we are about to learn that he is the final arbiter of whether someone is a biddy or a butt. Just guessing.
It just amazes me how people can sit at their computer and call people names just because you don't agree with them. I've never met anyone who agreed with everything I said. If they did, I'd think they were lying!
I know, I've been shocked at some of the name-calling that goes on here. I agree with you, I don't think there are many people who agree about everything.
That's the point. If it's a fact it's not derrogatory. Basically if you are insulted by the word it means you are one but don't want to be one. Perhaps you should change.
I have just one thing to say and then I'll bow out, I was taught respect and if you having nothing nice to say then keep your mouth shut. There is no excuse for disrespect. Calling names is an insult an adult should know better. And people are wondering where the kids get it from. You don't know anyone on this board well enough to call them names. If you have children I hope you are teaching them better than what you have learned.
