OK, I am often leery of buying plants from catalogs because they are often very small dead twigs, BUT I ordered a couple of elderberry bushes from Gurney's for shipment this spring. The roots were wrapped and there were leaves budding from the nice sized stems. When I went to plant them the more expensive one, which had two stems, was actually two plants intertwined and both had leaves budding. Clearly a win-win for this purchase.

I ordered these because of an article on experiences with on-line/catalog purchases which gave glowing reviews so I took a chance.

Planted 2 grape vines too. Going to have to clear more land before too long.

There is a lavender farm beside my son's property. They sell the lavender to a local meadery that I buy lavender mead for Christmas gifts for the immediate family ..... There is also a brewery that does persimmon beer and we have been known to trade persimmons for a couple of pints in the past.
